The newly renovated home for the Kansas City Symphony offices also got this lovely new parking addition and rooftop deck + garden.  The Vitagraph building is just south of downtown KC and stands in the shadow of the new Performing Arts Center.  The project was designed by Helix Architecture + Design.

2011 Tour de Brew

The first ever Tour de Brew in Kansas City was an absolute blast!  I wish I’d been riding it instead of dragging a camera around…  These are a few of the almost 300 photos I took, and I hope to figure out how to post the whole lot of them to Flicker – so check there in a while if you’re not exhausted with these.

Kansas Biosciences Authority

This is the new Venture Accelerator by PGAV Architects, the building located
in the Kansas Bio-Sciences campus in Olathe, KS.  The photos were taken in a sort of a hurry for the cover story in Commercial Journal magazine.  They had a fast approaching deadline, so we didn’t have time to wait for a better sky, or for the workers to wrap up construction in all spaces.  Look for the June/July issue (I think it is…) published by Anthem Publishing in Overland Park.

Recent Press

#25 of of my Painted series photographs is featured in the Upfront section of ArchitectureBoston Magazine‘s summer issue – other photos from the series will be on their web-site soon. It’s on page 11, or if your copy hasn’t arrived yet in the mail, you can see it on page three of the PDF below.  The Painted series was also featured recently in the last ever edition of Present Magazine, the wonderful on-line variety magazine published here in Kansas City since 2005 by Pam Taylor and Pete Dulin.  Present will be sorely missed. Reeves Wiedeman Company

These are of Helix Architecture‘s recent renovation of a handsome old terracotta-faced building in midtown KC, the new home of Reeves Wiedeman Company, wholesale plumbing suppliers.  A copper wrapped, skylighted atrium in the center of the building connects the grade-level service floor to offices above.
