These are of the recently renovated Commerce Tower in downtown KC. Does my heart good to see a stately old building given a renewed lease on life. Design and construction by Ryan Companies.

Cats and Dogs
This is exactly the place I’d want want to be if I were a sick puppy. Bradley Animal Hospital in Lawrence, KS. Design by Sabatini Architects.
Tour of Lawrence Schools
These are some recent photos of new school projects in Lawrence, KS by Sabatini Architects. They are: Lawrence High School, Lawrence College and Career Center, and Kennedy Elementary.
Vol Walker Addition
These are photos from a recent road-trip I took to see the gorgeous new addition to the School of Architecture building at the “U of Ark” in Fayetteville – designed by Marlon Blackwell with Polk Stanley Wilcox. I was very graciously allowed to snoop around with a camera for the day and cause all their students to wonder if somebody should phone security. And for you fans of Architectural Photography Rock-Stars: I ran into Peter Aaron and Francis Dzikowski on campus! They were taking photos at another new building nearby… I didn’t get autographs, so you’ll just have to take my word.
Pryor Learning Commons
I only just realized I have not yet posted these photos, so here they are finally! This is the new building on the quad at William Jewell College in Liberty, designed by Gould Evans, built by J E Dunn. I’m sure there are others I need to post still, so stay tuned…
Webster Parking
A cool parking structure is SO much nicer than a surface parking lot. This one is across the street from the Webster House, downtown KC, MO – and ill look nicer still when grubby snow mounds are melted. Designed by Helix, built by McCownGordon.

Bowersock Power Station
When I was a kid I spent probably 90% of my time in the ditch next door to our house building dams out of mud and bricks. It’s what I’d be doing right now if the city hadn’t buried a pipe in place of our creek. So when I got a call this summer about taking photos of the new hydro-electric power plant in Lawrence, I said “Yeah, I’d love to”. Just like that. Very restrained and adult like. Built by Kissick, architecture by Sabatini.
Mid-America Arts Alliance
These are the newly renovated MAAA offices in the heart of Kansas City’s famous Crossroads district. Beautiful design work by Sabatini Architects, expert construction by Centric Projects.
Abernathy Furniture Company
These are the last of recent photos for the Foutch Brothers. The Abernathy Furniture Company building in Leavenworth, KS is converted now into apartments. In the lobby, over the entry are a few pieces of original Abernathy furniture!
Everett
This project has the most bohemian feel of the buildings I photographed recently in St. Joseph, MO for the Foutch Brothers. There really ought to be painter’s studios taking advantage of the gorgeous light here.
