The Foundry
Also at the Church of the Resurrection (see preceding post…), and also by GouldEvans is The Foundry. The multi-purpose worship space occupies COR’s former main building in Leawood, KS, and sits next door to the current one–which you might have seen HERE.
SCOR
This is my first ever project for a Parisian client! I did the photography of the Paris-based SCOR’s local offices in Leawood, KS for OOSHOT. I’ll be opening an office in France soon. OK maybe not soon.
Camels Roam Manhattan
The other Manhattan, in Kansas—at Shamrock Farm. Valeri and her Dad Roy gave their four camels their annual Spring brushing and invited Joan and I (and many others) along. These are wonderful animals with personalities as big as a pyramid. Everybody should have one.
St. Joseph Catholic Church, Topeka
St. Joseph Catholic Church is located within the shadow of the capitol building in downtown Topeka. The masonry and exterior were restored recently and work on the interior is underway, all led by SFS Architecture in Kansas City. One more good reason to go to Peka. Get it? To Peka!

FHSU Track + Field
This elegant complex is the FHSU Track + Field facility in Hays, Kansas–architecture by GouldEvans.
And I want to address the controversy now before it explodes into an embarrassing scandal: The grass you see in these photos is in fact Liberty, MO grass from the campus of William Jewell College. And from two years ago. Thought I’d fess-up because I’m sure somebody will recognize it and go apoplectic on me. Then the phone starts ringing off the hook and the next thing you know the media are tramping all over my lawn…….
Brush
This is the latest in my ever-expanding Open Series. One of which–by the way–was included in Fraction Magazine’s 9th anniversary issue. This pile of former trees was cleared to continue route 171 southward in Kansas as a dual lane highway.
